The business units of Liander and Liandon make up the network company Alliander whose staff of around 6,000 are responsible for energy distribution in large areas of the Netherlands. In addition, we at Alliander are the specialists when it comes to complex private energy grids and installations.
The network company Alliander consists of the business units Liander, Endinet and Liandon. Liander and Endinet manage gas and electricity networks in a large part of the Netherlands. Liandon designs and realises complex energy infrastructures.
Alliander was formerly known as n.v. Nuon and consisted of both a network company and a production and supply company. Due to the Independent Network Operation Act (WON), the company unbundled into an independent network company and an independent production and supply company. The legal unbundling took place on July 1, 2009.
Alliander shows good half year results. It increased its investment in grids and reduced power outages.
On June 17th 2011 a legal merger between Alliander N.V. (acquiring company) and its wholly owned subsidiary Alliander Finance B.V. (disappearing company) has been effectuated.
The year 2010 was one of growth for Alliander, both in value for our customers, shareholders and employees and in our contribution to society. The annual report shows the close connections between our operational, financial and social activities in 2010.
Alliander full-year figures 2010: strengthened financial position is a good basis for future investment.
Alliander is the third investor in Locamation, the Netherlands-based developer and supplier of proven smart grid technology.
Liander will begin installing innovative operating systems at significant junctions in the electricity grid. These new systems will ensure that power outages are shorter and will allow the energy supply to become more sustainable.
