About Alliander

Powergrid The business units of Liander and Liandon make up the network company Alliander whose staff of around 6,000 are responsible for energy distribution in large areas of the Netherlands. In addition, we at Alliander are the specialists when it comes to complex private energy grids and installations.

Corporate profile

The network company Alliander consists of the business units Liander, Endinet and Liandon. Liander and Endinet manage gas and electricity networks in a large part of the Netherlands. Liandon designs and realises complex energy infrastructures.

Alliander was formerly known as n.v. Nuon and consisted of both a network company and a production and supply company. Due to the Independent Network Operation Act (WON), the company unbundled into an independent network company and an independent production and supply company. The legal unbundling took place on July 1, 2009.

Profit lower due to tariff reductions

Alliander reports net profit of € 62 million for the first half of 2010, compared with € 207 million for the same period in 2009. Profit after incidental items is € 70 million (H1 2009: € 89 million), mainly reflecting tariff reductions imposed by the regulator.

Endinet now part of Alliander

As of July 1, 2010, all shares of Endinet formally transferred to Alliander. Herewith Endinet has become part of Alliander. The price agreed for acquisition is € 712 million.
