Endinet now part of Alliander

Arnhem, 1 July 2010 – Grid manager Endinet today became part of Alliander. The formal transfer of all shares in Endinet to Alliander took place today. Alliander and Endinet have reached an agreement with the trade unions about a transition protocol for the employees of Endinet. The price agreed for acquisition is € 712 million.

The services for the customers of Endinet will remain unchanged, with Endinet continuing to operate as a separate grid manager within Alliander for the next five years. The only exception is Endinet Haarlemmermeer. Customers in this municipality will be served both for electricity and gas by grid manager Liander.

Strong combination

The combination with Endinet will strengthen Alliander’s position as the Netherlands’ largest network company and promote its joint efforts with the other grid managers in the Netherlands to effect the transition to a more sustainable energy supply.

Process

On 11 December 2009 the two companies and the shareholders of Endinet announced the proposed acquisition and on 4 March 2010 they signed the final sales and purchase agreement. The works councils of both companies, the Supervisory Board and the Shareholders of Alliander support the acquisition. The Minister of Economic Affairs, the Office of Energy Regulation and the Netherlands Competition Authority have also given their approval.
