Walter Bien appointed as new CFO Alliander

The supervisory board of Alliander has appointed Walter Bien as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Alliander. Walter Bien, currently working as financial director at Boskalis Dredging & Inland Infra, will join the board of Directors of Alliander on October 7.

Annemarie Jorritsma, chairman of the supervisory board: “The energy transition is accelerating. As a large grid company, Alliander forms an essential link in the transition to a sustainable energy system. With Walter Bien we have found an experienced director with a relevant financial background for the challenges this transition involves. We welcome his arrival and wish him all the best in this position.”

Only one chance

Walter Bien: “Alliander and society are facing a huge challenge, with the energy transition demanding important financial considerations. Three members

As of October 7, the Board of Directors of Alliander consists of three members: CEO Ingrid Thijssen, CFO Walter Bien and CTO Daan Schut. Walter Bien started his career at Ballast Nedam and became later financial director of the development company of that building company. In 2006, he switched to Boskalis, where he performed several functions.
