Over the past year, Alliander helped tens of thousands of businesses and consumers get a new or higher-capacity connection to the electricity grid. Just under 2,000 large companies were helped off the waiting list and onto the power grid, while over 43,000 households and smaller companies were also connected to the grid. This emerges from the 2025 annual report, which the network company released today and once again presents record figures.

Alliander has received official approval for its CO₂ targets for 2030. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) confirms that these goals are in line with the 1.5 degrees scenario of the Paris Climate Agreement. With this approval, Alliander meets the strictest international standards for reducing its CO2 footprint.

The shareholders of network operator Alliander have approved the proposal to appoint Menno Snel as a member of the Supervisory Board at an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.

Network operator Alliander intends to appoint Menno Snel as a member of its Supervisory Board. The proposed appointment will be put before Alliander’s shareholders at an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) on 17 October 2025. If the shareholders approve the appointment, his term of office will commence immediately after the meeting.

Smarter energy use is crucial in keeping the network reliable and affordable. Over the first six months of 2025, network company Alliander invested €968 million, mainly in upgrading, expanding, and maintaining its gas and electricity networks. This was 21% more than in the same period last year. But significant growth is not enough in itself: more is still needed. Smarter use of energy prevent peak loads on the power grid is crucial, not just for businesses but also for homes. If we use the power grid more efficiently and smarter, energy will continue to be accessible and affordable for all, both today and in the future.
