Alliander develops and operates energy networks. Our cables and pipelines deliver power, gas and heat to over three million Dutch households and businesses. We are also creating scope for sustainable development of solar and wind power and the use of electric vehicles and sustainable gases. We don’t do this on our own. We do it together with our customers, partners, educational institutions and the authorities. By combining knowledge, effort, and smart choices, we are creating space for sustainable energy use and building a future-proof energy system one step at a time.

Demand for energy is soaring. We are all using more electricity and increasingly generating that power ourselves. This is why we work every day to build an energy system that is ready for the future. The energy of tomorrow, developed today
The energy transition has a direct impact on society. Having to wait for a grid connection, limited grid capacity or uncertainty as to what is possible. Innovation helps close the gap between what we are already able to do today and what still needs to be done: making smarter use of the grid, keeping the work feasible and safe, and getting new solutions from the idea stage to actual implementation faster. We experiment, learn and scale up. Many innovations start as a pilot.
